What WaypointGuru collects
WaypointGuru collects diagnostic data and error reports to help identify and fix issues, and to improve reliability.
Always collected
Basic error information is always collected to keep the app performing reliably. This data contains no identifying information and cannot be linked to you, your device, or your account in any way.
When you opt in
On the web, when you choose to share diagnostic data, it is additionally associated with a random identifier generated in your browser. This lets us identify patterns across your sessions — for example, whether the same error is affecting many users — without linking the data to your account or personal information.
About this identifier:
- It is randomly generated in your browser — it is not your account ID, email address, or anything derived from them
- It is never stored on WaypointGuru's servers alongside your account information
- It resets automatically if you clear your browser's local storage
- It is independent per browser and device — your phone and computer are treated as separate
Changing your preference
You can turn diagnostic data sharing on or off at any time. Your choice belongs to your account, so it applies both on the web and in the WaypointGuru app.
- On the web, go to WaypointGuru Settings › User account › Diagnostics and analytics.
- In the app, tap your account picture, then Diagnostics and analytics.
