What WaypointGuru collects
WaypointGuru collects diagnostic data and error reports to help identify and fix issues, and to improve reliability.
Always collected
Basic error information is always collected to keep the app performing reliably. This data contains no identifying information and cannot be linked to you, your device, or your account in any way.
When you opt in
When you enable Help improve WaypointGuru in Settings, diagnostic data is additionally associated with a random identifier generated on your device. This lets us identify patterns across your sessions — for example, whether the same error is affecting many users — without linking the data to your account or personal information.
About this identifier:
- It is randomly generated in your browser — it is not your account ID, email address, or anything derived from them
- It is never stored on WaypointGuru's servers alongside your account information
- It resets automatically if you clear your browser's local storage
- It is independent per browser and device — your phone and computer are treated as separate
Changing your preference
You can enable or disable diagnostic data sharing at any time in WaypointGuru settings › User account › Diagnostics and analytics.
